Novafloor seam sealer finishes your parquet flooring

Our seam list with real oak surface is a unique product that ensures a great finish for your Novafloor parquet and HARDER By Novafloor hard oak flooring.

The frame is made of aluminium, with a layer of real oak on top. We oil-saw the surface of the edging in Vaasa. The finished list looks solid wood, and matches the tone of our oil varnished Novafloor and Harder products.

A seamless strip consists of two parts, the top and bottom rail. The bottom rail is attached to the substrate either by screwing or gluing it to the substrate. If you have underfloor heating in your home, we recommend glue fixing with construction adhesive. Screws/adhesive are not included.

The bottom rail should be installed before the floor, as it is difficult to install the bottom rail in the joint between two parquet floors. Asphalt insulation should be cut so that there is no insulation between the bottom rail and the parquet flooring. The green plastic clips supplied are inserted into the bottom rail, and then the top rail is finally pressed into place once the parquet has been installed on both sides.

If you order only a seam strip from us, please remember to indicate the thickness of your floor in the additional information field of the shopping cart. The bottom rail is available in two different heights, and it is important that we know the thickness of your floor so that we can send you the correct height of the bottom rail. The options are 9.6 – 12.5 mm thick (Harder 11 mm) and 12.6 – 15.5 mm thick (most of our parquets are 13 mm thick).

For example, a seam sealer should be used at doorways where the parquet continues from one room to the next. See your floor installation instructions for more information on situations where you should use a seam sealer. Seam moulding is not flush, i.e. it does not compensate for differences in height between different floors.
