HARDER by Novafloor is a new type of floor covering, namely hardened wood flooring. Thanks to the unique Wood Powder technology, hardened wood flooring combines the beauty of real oak parquet with a natural feel and unprecedented impact resistance. HARDER hardened wood flooring looks and feels like wide plank oak flooring, with a genuine oak surface and a board width of up to 27 cm.
The oak surface is bonded to the Aquasafe frame using a Nordic Wood Powder innovation that makes the floor highly impact resistant. HARDER hardwood flooring resists impact even better than laminate flooring. Yet the floor surface is genuine and warm oak.
HARDER flooring looks and feels like oak flooring. The plank is uniquely wide, as much as 27 cm wide and 2.2 metres long. The seam between the planks is gently bevelled to emphasise the plank-like quality. The bevel is small, a so-called “micro bevel”.
GERMAN FLOORING WITH DOMESTIC SURFACE TREATMENT
From the very beginning, in 2007, our company has taken a different path from our competitors, because mediocre floors are not enough for us. That’s why we have been processing our own parquet flooring in Vaasa for more than ten years, using German raw materials. Now the new HARDER by Novafloor oak flooring completes our product family.
On our state-of-the-art, robotised surface treatment line in Vaasa, we hard-oil saw parquet, plank flooring and now also HARDER oak flooring to order. Quality control is a matter of the heart for us, as are the best raw materials and components. For the surface treatment we use Osmo Color and Saicos natural oil waxes from Germany. We manufacture your floor specifically for you, so there are no differences in shade from one batch to the next.
The HARDER floor blanks are manufactured exclusively for us by Meister of Germany. The HARDER floor technology is thoroughly tested and proven to be of very high quality, based on the Wood Powder technology developed by Meister and Välinge in Sweden.
FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND CLEAN INDOOR AIR
PEFC-certified wood from controlled and sustainably managed forests is used for HARDER flooring.
All the raw materials used in HARDER flooring are carefully selected to be emission-free or as low as possible, for clean indoor air.
UNIQUELY IMPACT-RESISTANT FLOORING
HARDER is a completely new floor covering that combines the natural beauty, vibrancy and warmth of real hardwood flooring with a new flooring technology. The result is a hardwood floor that looks and feels like wide oak parquet and resists impact even better than laminate flooring.
The floor does not need to and cannot be sanded like traditional parquet, as it does not wear in the same way as softer parquet. Once the oil finish has worn off, the floor can be easily renewed with a maintenance oil treatment. It is also easy to apply the maintenance oil yourself, just ask us for more detailed instructions.
The quality of the flooring is also reflected in the long 20-year product guarantee for home use.
EXCELLENT MOISTURE PROTECTION
The HARDER floor is made of Aquasafe wood fibre material, which makes the floor low-loss and resistant to splash water. In addition, each board is damp-proofed at the edges before assembly. The moisture barrier prevents water spilled on the floor from being immediately absorbed into the wood at the edges of the boards, and the floor will retain its performance characteristics for many years. HARDER’s properties also make it suitable for use in public spaces.
BEAUTIFUL AND LOW-MAINTENANCE FLOORING
HARDER flooring is made from selected oak veneers of the natural variety. The natural variations in tone and the lively grain pattern of the variety combine to give the floor a plank-like appearance. The floor has few knots. The knots are dark or light, the colour of the oil wax used influences the shade of the knots. The branching is slightly depressed.
INSTALLATION AND UNDERFLOOR HEATING
HARDER hardened wood flooring is well suited for underfloor heating; both electrically heated and water-heated. The important thing to remember with electric underfloor heating is that the heat must be even. Heating with night-time electricity alone is not recommended.
The MasterClick Plus locking point makes installation of HARDER flooring quick and easy. It is easy to install, as each board can be folded down immediately. This speeds up installation considerably.
