Oil-waxed flooring naturally repels dirt and moisture, but regular cleaning is still important:
- Prefer detergents for oiled surfaces, such as soap-based wood floor cleaners.
- Vacuum or sweep dust and debris regularly with a soft-bristled tool.
- Use a soft mop, not a wet one – too much water can damage the wood.
Washing and rewashing
The oil-based finish on Trinity floors needs occasional maintenance:
- Washing with a suitable soap will help maintain protection and shine.
- Light refinishing can be done on worn areas – it is not always necessary to treat the whole floor.
- Use an oil wax of the same colour or shade if you’re doing precision repairs.
Protection in everyday life
- Use felt blocks for furniture legs.
- Mats help to protect walkways.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning products.
